President Uhuru Kenyatta needs all our unequal support in the on going fight against corruption. At least I can for once say that we’ve got president who is committed to fight corruption menace and ready to end impunity in this country

Corruption has a way of fighting back whenever fought and president well aware of this, has come out strongly to announce that he is ready to face the consequences that come with the fight against corruption.

In his recent speech, president Kenyatta who is serving his last term in the office said that he is ready to lose his friends if that is what it will take to win war on corruption. The statement was largely seen as directed to his deputy William Ruto whom things seems to have gone South since his (Kenyatta’s) 9th March hand shake with opposition leader Rt Hon. Raila Odinga.

The handshake which is widely supported by majority of Kenyans has caused some discomfort within Ruto’s camp in equal measure. Close allies of Ruto lead by Senate majority leader sen. Kipchumba Murkomen have in several occasions scathingly questioned the real motive behind the unity pack between Uhuru and Raila (UhuRao). To them, the handshake is meant to frustrate Ruto’s 2022 presidential ambitions.

Even though the Rt. Hon Raila Odinga has kept everyone guessing his next move in regards to his future political journey more so with regards to whether he will give it another short at the race to become the 5th Kenyan president in 2022, hi close allies are hinting at something close to Odinga being on the presidential ballot as a candidate come 2022.

2022 aside, any true patriot regardless of the political affiliation will support President’s renewed interest in fighting corruption and impunity. The war against corruption shouldn’t be politicized nor tribalized.  Let’s all unite and slay this monster once and for all.
